Chinese stock exchanges implement ESG

Three major Chinese stock exchanges (Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen) are to impose mandatory ESG reporting requirements for its listed entities. The reporting requirements will include topics from E, S and G areas and notably scope 3 emissions will be mandatory to report. The requirements will be mandatory for large cap companies and about 450 companies will be affected, reporting will commence in 2026 for 2025.

At the same time, EU commission and parliament has agreed to delay CSRD reporting for certain sectors with 2 years.
